The Red Lion in Market Weighton has recently welcomed local MP, Sir Greg Knight to find out more about the popular, local pub.
On hand to welcome the MP for East Yorkshire to the recently refurbished pub was Operator Lewis Acton and the pub team.
After being warmly welcomed, Sir Greg was able to find out about the venue’s recent investment by the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company. The Red Lion had £225,000 invested into it earlier this year, which saw a complete revamp throughout, with a new bar, lighting, furniture and decorations.
Lewis said: “It was great to show Sir Greg around our wonderful pub and show him all the new additions that were added during the renovation. We enjoyed hearing his thoughts about the new look and loved telling him about the changes made, which have enhanced the customer experience.”
As well as gaining a new look, the Red Lion’s event calendar also received a refresh. Throughout the week, customers can enjoy karaoke nights, live music and quiz nights. Also, HD TV screens were added to enhance the live sports offering, alongside a new darts board.
Lewis added: “We are very community driven as the Red Lion, so it was lovely to tell Sir Greg all about the ways in which we provide some fun, and give back to those in the local area. We love welcoming everyone in, and it is so nice to see familiar and new faces alike.
“Sir Greg seemed to love the events we have going on and was keen to attend some himself. We look forward to the next time Sir Greg visits the Red Lion!”

The pub looks great after its investment, and it was good to hear about everything there is going on for everyone to participate in. I wish Lewis and the team all the best for the future.”
