The Blackbirds in Hertford has recently reopened its doors and on hand to pull the first pints were the Mayor of Hertford Vicky Smith, Deputy Mayor Alex Daar and the MP for Hertford and Stortford, Julie Marson.

To officially reopen the Blackbirds after its six-figure investment from the award-winning Stonegate Group, the trio attended the pub’s grand launch party to celebrate the new look venue.

Works have been carried out giving the pub a complete refurbishment inside and out with new lighting, signage, flooring, furniture, design and decorations. The food and drinks menu has also had a makeover, introducing breakfast and Sunday roasts.

General Manager Elaine was pleased to welcome all three of the important community figures along to the exciting launch party, which consisted of a red carpet theme with stilt walkers, fire breathers and a DJ.

During the party, Elaine was able to tell the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Julie Marson MP more about the investment and her plans for the future.

Elaine commented: “We were absolutely delighted to have the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Julie Marson MP at our grand launch party, where they had the honour of pulling the first pints in the newly transformed Blackbirds. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing the details of our investment with them, and have loved hearing everyone’s positive feedback of what has been done with the place. We have been thrilled to welcome back familiar faces and greet new ones since reopening our doors, and the team and I are beyond excited for the incredible times that lie ahead.”

Julie Marson MP commented: “It was great to attend the reopening launch party of the Blackbirds after its impressive investment, I think the pub looks brilliant. Everyone at the party was having a good time, I enjoyed witnessing the enthusiasm from the local community. I look forward to seeing the Blackbird continue to grow within the community and wish Elaine all the best for the future.”
