The Corner House in Maidenhead, a beloved local pub, has recently hosted local MP Theresa May, showcasing its stunning new look following a significant six-figure investment earlier this year.

The MP for Maidenhead was warmly greeted by Operator Paul and the pub team, who offered her a grand tour of the newly refurbished venue.

The investment by the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, made enhancements to the interior of the pub, boasting fresh décor, five HD TV screens, inviting booth-style seating, and a brand-new pool table. The outside seating area received a refreshing makeover, and a delightful ‘secret courtyard’ seating area was introduced.

It’s not just the appearance that has been revitalised, Paul was eager to share with Theresa the incredible entertainment offering that brings the community together. From vibrant DJ nights and spirited karaoke nights to engaging quizzes and thrilling pool nights, the Corner House offers something to suit all and ensures everyone has a great time.

Paul was particularly enthusiastic about highlighting the pub’s dedication to sports. Not only does it screen live matches, including football and tennis, but it also welcomes local teams to compete on the pool table, fostering a sporting community spirit.

“Our investment has breathed new life into the pub,” Paul said. “Our space and offerings cater perfectly to the people of Maidenhead, and it’s so lovely to see so many individuals come in and enjoy themselves at the Corner House.”

The community lies at the heart of the Corner House, and Paul and the team were delighted to share with Theresa the pub’s deep commitment to fostering a sense of togetherness. They passionately support both local and national causes and have formed genuine connections with their customers.

Paul concluded: “Speaking with Theresa about the local area and expressing how important it is to us reaffirmed our dedication to serving as a cherished community pub. We are committed to nurturing relations, supporting our community and creating unforgettable experiences at the Corner House.

“We are privileged to have been able to share our new chapter with Theresa and look forward to seeing her again in the future.”

On her visit, Paul got Theresa behind the bar pulling a pint of Madri, which he was able to give pointers on.

Theresa May MP said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Corner House, meeting with Paul and the team. The pub looks great after its renovations, and it is well-loved by its customers. Community is a large part of the pub and it is great to hear about all the ways Paul involves everyone. I wish Paul and the team all the luck for the future.”
