Local favourite The Grapes Inn, Falmouth is set to re-open its doors on 20th July, after a £250,000 investment from award-winning Craft Union Pub Company. The high street staple will also be hosting a grand launch party across the 28th, 29th and 30thJuly, for all to celebrate the new-look venue.
The Grapes is one of Falmouth’s oldest pubs, founded in the 1700s. Traditionally a watering hole for navy men, seafarers and merchants, who docked their ships in Falmouth’s beautiful harbour, which the pub boasts a panoramic view of.
The pub will see a brand new operator at the helm, Melissa, who is already a long-serving Craft Union Operator, who has previously run other sites with the pub company in Staffordshire, and is making the move to the South West to take over and bring her wealth of pub experience to The Grapes!
Melissa stated “The Grapes really is a hub for the community here, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to see the new look. Our entertainment offering is really exciting, and it’ll be great to see old and new faces alike getting involved in all the upcoming events we have going on.”
The pub is in a prime location, in the centre of town, accessible from the high street, and with stunning views across the harbour at the back. With the investment giving the pub a total refresh throughout, customers can look forward to full refurbishment works, which will retain the pub’s original dart board and pool table. As well as this, the bar has been made more efficient and compact to make way for brand-new fixed seating, giving a more spacious feel to the space.
As well as the uplifting refurbishment throughout, The Grapes Inn will also be hosting a grand launch party, across Friday 28th, Saturday 29th July and Sunday 30th July. The Friday will bring an 80s theme disco to the pub, as well as stilt walkers and fire breathers! There will also be a magic mirror, which you should come and see for yourself and a golden ticket campaign with prizes to be won.
Saturday will host a live band and DJ, with customers able to enter a competition to win a bar tab, along with many other giveaways, so you won’t want to miss out! Sunday will round off the weekend, with a live singer in the evening, so you can relax and enjoy the music with a drink in hand in the newly refurbished space.
The entertainment won’t stop there, as customers can now look forward to a host of entertainment across the week, including a quiz night, open mic night, karaoke and much more! The pub will also screen live sports matches on its TV screens installed with Sky Sports and TNT Sports, so you don’t have to miss any of the action.
Melissa concluded, “I can’t wait to see what The Grapes has in store. It’s such a beautiful location, and reopening right in the middle of summer is the perfect time for our customers to enjoy the new-look surroundings and make the most of the sunshine across the harbour!”
