A popular community pub in Chislehurst, the Gordon Arms, will be reopening its doors on Wednesday 26 July, following a £180,000 investment by the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company.
The Gordon Arms, situated on Park Road, is steeped in history and is set to begin its new chapter this month, with a new look inside and out, as well as a new face at the helm.
The classic British pub has kept its well-loved character and charm, but its aesthetic has been transformed and uplifted during the renovation with new fixtures and fittings. The garden areas to the rear and front have also been revamped to make the perfect space to relax and enjoy the summer sun.
As well as interior and exterior changes, guests of the Gordon Arms can also look forward to their new, refreshed drinks menu and a new schedule of weekly entertainment, which will take place seven days a week!
The pub’s new, extensive drinks menu will feature premium beers, wines and spirits, so you will be sure to find your favourite drink. To pair with your refreshing drinks, the Gordon Arms will have regular entertainment throughout the week including bingo, quiz nights and live music.
The entertainment doesn’t stop there, sport is a big part of the local pub, and with new HD TV screens, sports lovers can enjoy regular live sports in comfort. Also, a new dart board has been installed and will play host to local teams for darts league matches!
In addition to the weekly entertainment schedule, the infamous seafood stall, the Fossils Seafood Shack will be back in action when the pub reopens. The Gordon Arms and the Shack will be partnering up to provide the best seafood in Chislehurst.
The Chislehurst community can also expect regular fundraising nights, with support being focused on the Chartwell Childrens Cancer Trust when the doors reopen.
Ready to welcome guests to enjoy all the new elements of the community pub is Operator Clare Swan. Clare began her career working in retail for twelve years, then moved into the pub sector ten years ago and has worked at a number of Craft Union sites. She is now ready to embark on her next chapter in the industry at the Gordon Arms.
Clare said: “I am so excited to be at the Gordon Arms and meet so many members of the local community. This is a fantastic pub and the work that has been done has made the place look amazing. We will have so much going on and cannot wait to have some fun with you all and create a space for all the community, even children and your furry friends.”
“I cannot wait to get the doors open and start serving you all, and I hope to see lots of you over the grand launch weekend!”
To celebrate the reopening, the Gordon Arms will be hosting a grand launch party weekend on Friday 4th, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6thAugust.
On Friday, you will be able to enjoy late-night pizzas from 8pm-11pm, and some great music from singer Darren James who will be performing covers of hit songs from the 1960s to today. Saturday night is party night as DJ Jamie will be providing the tunes from 7pm-11pm, which pair perfectly with the seafood stall’s food, stilt walkers and fire breathers. After all the excitement, Sunday is a day for the whole family. Come down from 12pm for a hog roast from 2pm-5pm, live music, face painting, a magician and even an ice cream stall!
