The Talisman in Tunstall recently welcomed its local MP Jonathan Gullis to see its new look following its recent £234,000 investment and to find out more about its offering to the Tunstall community.

At the helm of the Talisman is Lynn Jones, who was on hand to welcome the MP for Stoke-on-Trent North alongside her brilliant team.

Jonathan’s visit to the pub gave Lynn and the team the opportunity to showcase their magnificent, community pub after it was recently renovated as well as discuss a range of topics including the work carried out during the investment, community engagement and local issues.

Whilst talking through the new features of the Talisman, Lynn took Jonathan on a grand tour of the pub, where the team were keen to point out their favourite additions. The pub was transformed with new fixtures and fittings, giving the inside a light, refreshed atmosphere, as well as a revamped drinks menu and entertainment schedule, not to mention the addition of new HD TV screens.

Lynn commented: “The Talisman has really been given a new lease of life since undergoing its investment, the team and customers alike are very pleased with its new look. The investment by Craft Union has really helped us provide an amazing venue for the local community to gather and get to know one another. We love welcoming everyone, whether it is for a quiet drink with friends and family or to have some fun with those in the area, we are here for any occasion.”

Lynn was able to express to Jonathan how important their role in the community is, and how she and the team are always finding ways in which they can support individuals and local and national causes. The Talisman has been working with a charity that provides and advocates for defibrillators to be placed in community hubs.

The pub’s entertainment schedule of open mic nights, live sports, live music and much much more really brings the Tunstall community together. Lynn and the team thoroughly enjoy having fun with everyone and being a friendly ear.

Before Jonathan headed off, Lynn was able to get him behind the bar pulling a pint, which she and the team provided their expertise on.

Lynn concluded: “It was great to have Jonathan come and visit, we loved talking him through our investment and what we offer to the local community. Jonathan was very interested in our local business, and we look forward to welcoming him again in the future to the Talisman.”

Jonathan Gullis MP said: “I am pleased to have had the opportunity to visit the Talisman and meet with Operator Lynn and the team. I think the venue looks brilliant after its investment and it was brilliant to witness how much the locals love it. Lynn and the team are doing a great job, and I enjoyed hearing about their future plans. I wish them the best of luck and look forward to visiting again soon.”
