Well-loved local The Crown and Cushion, Hyde, recently hosted local MP Jonathan Reynolds following a significant £250,000 investment from award winning Craft Union Pub Company.

Operator Dawn Whittaker, along with Regional Manager Shelley Matier, were on hand to show Jonathan around the business, discuss their involvement with the local community and the important local activity they undertake.

Dawn talked Jonathan through the transformation of the pub which included a new bar, which now holds an extensive array of drinks, a paint refresh to brighten up the pub and a revamped beer garden boasting new seating with TV’s both inside and outside so customers can watch all their favourite sports.

The pair were able to chat about many topics including the company’s award-winning training and career development programme, the history and transformation of the pub, the involvement with the local community as well as the local issues they face which Jonathan offered his support for.

Jonathan took time to pull a pint and show his hand with a game of darts.  “The transformation looks wonderful and has really brought the community together.” Said Jonathan, “It is clear that The Crown and Cushion is a real local favourite, and it has been lovely to chat to customers and find out what makes this pub such a beloved venue. I look forward to returning soon!”

The Crown and Cushion pride themselves on being a welcoming space to bring the locals together which includes an updated entertainment schedule including Bingo on Mondays and Live DJ’S on Friday and Saturday nights for all to enjoy.

Dawn concluded: “The team and I enjoyed meeting Jonathan and showing him around the newly refurbished Crown & Cushion pub. He took a keen interest in our new offerings and expressed his thanks for the way the business engages with the local community. We look forward to seeing him again soon.”
