Popular local hub, the Suffolk Punch in Ipswich, will be reopening its doors today, Friday 2nd February, following an interior refresh, as experienced licensees Wendy and Mike Smuts step up to take charge of the pub.
As part of the pub’s reopening, the venue has benefitted from an interior revamp, with refreshed décor, a plant atrium area, and improved seating throughout. Suffolk Punch’s upgrade also sees their working fireplaces restored, making it the perfect place to shy away from the cold outside, warm up, and enjoy an expertly poured pint in good company.
To mark its reopening, Suffolk Punch will be running a 50% off offer on all draught beer for all customers, whilst stocks last. The offer is for a limited time only and so early attendance is encouraged!
Newly appointed publicans of Suffolk Punch, Wendy and Mike Smuts, are also the licensees of The Black Horse Inn, another landmark pub in Ipswich, so are experienced in the local area and look forward to seeing some familiar faces at the new-look venue.
Wendy commented: “We are thrilled to be reopening Suffolk Punch and starting a new chapter for the pub. We, like many other locals, felt it was time for a change at Suffolk Punch, so we’ve been hard at work trying to create a fresh new feel to the pub, moving away from the more traditional interior and sports focus it used to have. We are very excited to reopen the pub’s doors and welcome back our community.”
Wendy and Mike are eager to get the pub open and trading and plan to launch additional offerings in line with customer demand in due course. They added, “We are keen to get the pub open so that we can build rapport with the locals and see what they want out of their local pub. Our approach is community focussed, as we want Suffolk Punch to be a place for guests to come together in a comfortable and inviting setting, have a chat, create memories and enjoy the venue.”
The publicans plan to launch a food offering at Suffolk Punch once the venue is back up and running. Keep up to date with the latest developments via the pub’s Facebook page or on-site advertisements.
Wendy and Mike look forward to welcoming locals lack to Suffolk Punch this Friday, families, individuals, dogs, and children all welcome!
