Popular city centre pub, The Grapes, recently welcomed MP for Stafford Theo Clarke, for a tour of the new-look pub, following a substantial 6-figure investment from the fastest growing operator-led business Craft Union Pub Company.

Theo was warmly greeted by Operator Darren Rogers, who was on hand to tell her all about the recent investment, as well as discuss the local activity in Stafford, and the uplifting effect the pub has had on the area following the re-vamp.

The pair discussed levelling up Stafford post Covid, and how the investment has improved the overall look and feel of the local area whilst also giving the local community a great place to gather with family and friends.

Theo and Darren were also able to discuss the challenges faced at a local level, including lack of long stay parking available, in which Theo offered her support and assured the team that it is something she is keenly looking to address, along with boosting the pubs daytime presence.

On the tour, Theo was also able to get behind the bar and try her hand at pouring a pint of Guinness under the expert guidance of Darren and the pub team.

The investment has completely revitalised the space and included brand-new fixtures and fittings throughout, which have revived the pub and created a more inviting, welcoming atmosphere. The redecoration has also provided the pub with a brand-new DJ booth and party-ready dance floor for those looking for some late-night fun.

Alongside this, the bar has had a full revamp, which includes a full refresh to the now extensive and varied drinks offering, which includes classics such as Birra Moretti, Guinness and Carling, along with an expansive selection of wines, spirits, and cocktails.

The pub is also set to stock an exciting new selection of beers on draught, just in time for the summer months. The new range will include Peroni and Cruzcampo lagers, and for any Pale Ale lovers, the bar will now also include the hugely popular ‘Brixton Reliance’. Customers can keep an eye on the pubs social media channels for more information about the upcoming selection.

For avid sports fans, the pub now boasts a fully upgraded darts board area along with a newly installed pool table perfect for some friendly competition. The Grapes are even actively looking for teams to host in the local leagues!

The fun-filled entertainment schedule has also been updated, with the pub now hosting regular karaoke nights and DJ sets, inclusive of incredible drinks offers for customers to enjoy.

Operator of The Grapes, Darren said: “It was great to meet with Theo and show her the investment. She was thoroughly invested in learning about the pub and our contribution to local employment. We look forward to welcoming her back again soon.”

Theo Clarke, MP for Stafford, said: “It has been a pleasure to visit the Grapes and meet with Darren and the team. The investment looks wonderful, and it has been great to learn about the pub’s involvement in the local economy. I look forward to returning soon.”
