Popular neighbourhood pub, The Eddy in Brighton, has retained its title of ‘Best Brighton Pub’ for the second consecutive year at the BRAVO Awards, hosted by Restaurants Brighton, the ultimate guide to food and drink in Brighton, Hove, and Sussex. The award category was rebranded this year and was previously celebrated as ‘Best Local’.
The family run pub has been credited for being “full of character” as well as offering the “whole package” with “perfectly poured pints, an excellent drinks menu, live music, sports, quiz nights and fun events.” The award commentary also praised the “super-stylish, charismatic management and friendly team” who provide a “warm welcome” for all who enter their doors.
The locally celebrated BRAVOs were founded in 2017 and winners across the 18 categories are democratically voted for by the public each year. 2024 marks the largest year of voting in the awards’ history with 71,931 votes cast across 688 participating venues in Brighton, Hove and Sussex. The Eddy was up against many brilliant pubs, craft beer pubs and gastro pubs in the category, each vying for the title of best in Brighton.
The General Manager of The Eddy, Hatt Eaton, said: “We are so proud to have been voted the Best Brighton Pub for the second year running! The awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of fantastic venues all over Brighton, Hove and Sussex and we are thrilled to be in such brilliant company. We are committed to making The Eddy a pub that places the community at the heart of our operation, and we look forward to welcoming our locals and any new faces to help us celebrate our win in the coming weeks!”
Hatt continued: “Thank you to everyone who voted for us in the Best Brighton Pub category, we are so grateful and bowled over by the support from our community, it makes our job a joy.”
Stonegate Regional Manager, Luke Seymour, said of the achievement: “Hatt and team put their hearts into running the venue and they are all credits to the licensee of the venue and to Stonegate. The pub is fantastically run, and we are proud to see the team celebrated through these prestigious awards.”
The awards ceremony is the only of its kind for the food and drink sector in Brighton and is considered the most revered award for local establishments to achieve.
