Much-loved community gem, The Prince, Tilehurst, has made a tremendous impact with their fundraising efforts for local charity ‘Babies in Buscot Support’, smashing their initial £2,000 goal and raising an astounding £2,700 for the cause. The pub’s fantastic efforts are part of Craft Union Pub Company’s wider campaign to reach £1 million in charity donations by February 2025 across their tight network of sites nationwide.
Craft Union’s ‘Make it a Million’ campaign follows their endeavour to reach 1 million pounds in donations, after raising a staggering £800,00 last year for a wide range of worthy causes. The leading pub company aims to smash last year’s record and reach a whopping £1 million across its extensive UK pub network through various fundraisers and activities.
Reading’s The Prince is off to a flying start with their fundraising efforts and operator, Michelle, has no plans to slow down. Michelle kicked off her efforts by hosting a buzzing family fun-day in support of ‘Babies in Buscot Support’, a local charity that provides invaluable care to babies in the intensive care unit. With a personal link to the unit’s integral work, Michell was keen to name ‘BIBS’ as her chosen charity of the year, which is something she changes annually to target her fundraising toward a variety of worthy causes.
The Prince’s lively annual fun-day took place in the pub car park, which Michelle filled to the brim with action-packed activities such as a climbing wall, a bouncy castle, and BBQ. There was plenty to keep the fun going for everyone, with exciting raffles, a tombola and music. Michelle was ecstatic with the turnout, confirming that almost every business in the area donated incredible prizes and vouchers for the raffles, and even stated that the sun was shining down to mark the occasion. Members of the local community were thrilled to get involved with the fundraising fun and helped Michelle smash her initial goal of raising £2,000. The pub was able to rally an incredible £2,700 in donations, which helped provide ‘Babies in Buscot Support’ with some much-needed incubators. The annual fun-filled event had a wonderful result and Michelle is excited to come back with a bang next year and continue flourishing in her fundraising efforts for the next chosen charity.
The much-loved community pub will not be stopping there in its commendable fundraising efforts, and will be hosting a range of action-packed activities throughout the UEFA European Football Championships, which members of the community are invited to get involved in. Michelle will be running football card sales, scratch card sales and sweepstakes throughout the tournament, in which 50% of each fund will be bestowed upon the lucky winner, and the other 50% will be donated to ‘BIBS’. The Prince wholeheartedly welcomes its customers to get involved with the exciting games in support of an important and moving cause.
