Grahame Redgrave and Graham Baldridge, two dedicated regional managers at Craft Union Pub Company, are gearing up for an extraordinary 400km bike ride from the historic beaches of Normandy to the iconic city of Paris. This ambitious journey, set to take place from June 25th to June 29th, aims to raise vital funds for Help for Heroes, a charity supporting veterans and their families.
The duo have both already made impressive strides towards their fundraising goal, having raised nearly £4,000 of their £6,000 target between them, with hopes to surpass their target in the next month, by the time the event rolls around.
Grahame Redgrave’s participation also marks a significant milestone in his personal journey. Having lost over 16 stone; more than half his body weight, Grahame is using this challenge to maintain his fitness and inspire others with his incredible transformation. Graham also felt he needed a challenge, and is striving to elevate his own health, mental and physical, all while helping an incredible cause and contributing to ‘Make it A Million’.
Grahame, Regional Manager at Craft Union said, “I’ve worked hard to achieve my weight loss goals, and now I’m channelling that determination into supporting our heroes. This bike ride is a way for me to give back and honour those who have served our country and it’s also a great way to maintain fitness and hopefully encourage others along the way.”
The regional managers oversee several pubs with strong military links. Amongst them is a pub in Richmond, North-East, near Catterick Barracks, The Old English Pub, which actively and consistently participates in Remembrance Day activities to raise much needed funds. The Red Bear, also in the North-East, is operated by a team whose family members serve in the army, so strong, deep connections to the military community run throughout many of Grahame’s pubs, with the teams frequently keenly fundraising for military causes.
As well as these key pubs in the NE area, Graham Baldridge also manages the Fat Ox, Whitley Bay, Waterloo Blyth, and the Grapes in Hexam, all local pubs with strong military links.
Graham Baldridge, Regional Manager at Craft Union said, “I’m thrilled to be part of this challenge and to support such a worthwhile cause. We are inspired by the bravery and sacrifice of our servicemen and women, and we hope our efforts will make a difference in their lives.”
This event will contribute to part of Craft Union’s wider ‘Make it a Million’ campaign, an ambitious effort to reach £1 million in donations after raising a staggering £800,000 last year for a wide range of worthy causes. The leading pub company aims to smash last year’s record through various fundraisers and activities across its extensive UK pub network.
Craft Union is hugely proud to see the commitment from Grahame and Graham in their impressive participation in the event and encourage the community to contribute to their fundraising efforts. Donations can be made through their official fundraising pages HERE and HERE, helping them to reach and exceed their target to support Help for Heroes.
