The Lord Nelson on the busy London Road in Sutton has received a massive £260,000 makeover complete with a revamped beer garden and feast fit for a king just in time for the warmer months.
The investment, creating eight new jobs, has brought with it an expansion of cask and craft beer, a new menu, ambient decor and the perfect setting for summer socialising with a double-levelled beer garden.
Already popular amongst Sutton locals the pub revealed its spacious new look during the grand reopening over Easter weekendwith a performancefromSylvia Mason James onSaturday15th.
“Our focus is always to provide top quality beer and great value food for our customers. The new menu has something for everyone, we are really looking forward to hearing the feedback” said general manager Ann Marie McNamara.
The new look wouldn’t be complete without culinary delights and the aptly named ‘Kings Feast’ menu doesn’t disappoint. Boasting over 100 combinations of dishes, ranging from; all day traditional English breakfast, to grills, gourmet burgers, lighter summer salads and vegetarian options including the vegetarian panang curry.
With quirky twists on pub favourites like the jumbo pie platter featuring chicken dinner pie and beef and ale pie, the sausage and mash mountain served with onion gravy and the chef’s choice plank with Mexican- topped twisters, tacos with chicken and chorizo, mini nachos, meatballs and garlic bread – there really is something for all tastes and occasions.
The pub is increasing to four cask ale pumps featuring Doom Bar & Young’s as regular fixtures and two ever changing guest Ales; two craft beers; Blue Moon and Punk IPA also Lilley’s fruity cider on tap for a refreshing summer alternative. That’s not all either there’s a spirit emporium to rival others with an array of botanical gins, premium vodka and whiskeys.
The destination for Sutton weekend soirees, customers can take the party outside with a revamped two-tiered beer garden complete with fifty covers, vibrant décor, heated booths, blankets, astro turf and Festoon lights, cosy comfort whatever the weather!
“Fingers crossed the sun rears its head so we can make the most of our new garden, get your sunglasses at the ready” added Ann Marie.
