The Oxford, Bulwell has recently welcomed MP for Nottingham North, Alex Norris to find out more about its recent investment, and its place in the local community.
On hand to warmly welcome Alex to the Oxford was pub Operator Kate Phillips, and the team. Upon arrival, Alex was given a tour of the new look, local pub, hearing first-hand from Kate all the new additions and enhancements that were made during the refurbishment.
As well as the new fixtures and fittings, the Oxford introduced a new drinks menu and an amazing line-up of weekly entertainment. Kate was able to tell Alex all about their sports offering of live sports now shown on their TV screens located throughout the pub, and the installation of a new pool table and darts board for friendly competition and local teams. In addition to sports, the pub hosts bingo nights and regular discos and parties.
Kate said: “Telling Alex about our recent investment was great, the work that was done has really made the pub look wonderful, and we loved showing it off to him. It has been great welcoming back customers and we have had such fun with them over the last few months with our new entertainment.
“The local community of Bulwell is so important to us, and we do all we can to give back to everyone by offering a warm welcoming space they can relax and have fun in.”
Kate and the team expressed to Alex how the Oxford is at the centre of the local community, and by bringing everyone together they have been able to form relationships with individuals, local teams and businesses, where the pub’s space and facilities can suit their needs.
Kate concluded: “The Oxford is a pub for everybody, and it was nice for Alex to see some of the regulars in having a drink during his visit and hear about all the different relationships that have been formed. We loved having Alex visit and look forward to the next time he pops by.”
Alex Norris MP said: “I am very thankful to have been invited to the Oxford and to meet the team. This community pub looks great after its investment and Kate and the team are doing a great job at maintaining high standards. I look forward to visiting this local pub again and hearing about all the great things they have going on.”
