Breathing new life into the rich tapestry of choice is The Harrow pub in Harrow, Station Road, which opened on Friday amid a display of fire-eaters, magicians, stilt-walkers and the melodic sound of live music. The spacious new 2-storey pub has seen an investment of £300K and created a spacious, warm, welcoming environment and 30 jobs for local people.
Mottled murals, splashes of colour and stunning, giant, silver domed bar lights strike you on arrival. The creative use of the space introduces casual dining areas, comfy booths and high bench tables perfect for throughout the day. By utilising every nook and cranny this makes for a flexible area to accommodate families, groups of friends or individuals day and early evening, shifting to a generous dance area as the venue creates an up-tempo twist into the night.
For top sporting occasions and everyday sports viewing, huge screens make the venue a dream location for sports lovers. The giant screens positioned throughout make sure you don’t miss a moment of action – every goal, jump, throw, twist or turn is caught in high definition, with both Sky and BT channels available and split screen options. The zoned areas and a state-of-the-art sound system, both upstairs and down, enable the venue to offer different sports, music or entertainment in the host of different areas.
An all day menu starting with breakfast offered from 7am (weekends from 10am), through to 10pm, offers a choice for all occasions. Start the day with a freshly brewed coffee and bacon or sausage buttie for £2.65 or sit and enjoy a tasty cooked breakfast which includes a choice of full English; poached egg and bacon brunch; a veggie option or the classic Heinz beans-on-toast!
The family friendly menu makes it an ideal spot to take-a-break from the Christmas shopping. Traditional favourites such as Cumberland sausage and mash; a choice of seven delicious, filling burgers including the hot and spicy Towering Inferno; a range of sharing platters and with 2 meals for £8.45 all day, every day, makes for a value-for-money treat.
The Great BBQ Combo Plank, comprising chicken wings, BBQ Pork ribs, Cumberland Sausages, southern-fried style chicken and pulled pork-topped fries – all served with their own dips, goes down a treat with friends whether watching the sport or starting a big night out.
For those in need of a lighter dish a selection of under 500 calorie meals are on offer including Thai-Style Yellow Chicken Curry and Broccoli and Brie Pasta Shells. The new Sunday lunch choice of roast beef or roast chicken, accompanied by a selection of seasonal vegetables and served in a giant Yorkshire pudding, now feature as a weekend classic.
Moving to the first floor the bar celebrates the icons of Harrow – James Blunt; Peter Andre and Simon Le Bon making it a perfect match for the music moments Manager Fiona Corkery and her team have planned.
“The great thing about the Harrow is that we truly have something for everyone” said Fiona. “Local business customers can pop by for early morning breakfasts; families can enjoy our great value food and drink throughout the day and in the evening we move from a dining destination to up-tempo music and dancing venue now that we have a 2am licence Friday and Saturday.
“We have such great space that we can have a number of activities going on simultaneously. On our first floor we have created a chilled sporting vibe throughout the day where you can play pool or watch a game and in the evenings the entertainment will range from classic sports to high-energy DJ sets.”
The Harrow is an ideal setting for Christmas celebrations and will be open on Christmas Day offering a festive treat at £34.95 per head. “We have lots of plans in place for the Christmas and New Year period with live music and the score of sporting fixtures, including a late night band and DJ for New Year’s Eve” added Fiona, “And we look forward to welcoming the residents of Harrow to pop along and celebrate the festive period with us.”
The Harrow will open from 7am to midnight Monday to Thursday; 7am to 2am on Friday; 10am to 2am Saturday and 10am to midnight on Sunday.
