Popular Frome pub, the Blue Boar, has reopened following a significant six-figure investment, with the renovations marking the beginning of the next chapter for the pub.
Dating back to the 17th century, this Grade II listed building has been carefully renovated by Craft Union with deep respect for its rich history. After a month of hard work, the pub has been given a new lease of life, ensuring it can continue serving the people of Somerset for years to come.
The pub has undergone a full redecoration, with the addition of new tables, comfy chairs, and curtains, all selected to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere.
To enhance the pub’s audio experience, the pub has installed a state-of-the-art audio-visual system, featuring high-definition screens and surround sound, perfect for live sports events and the pub’s stacked entertainment schedule.
The new dartboard meets professional standards, inviting enthusiasts to the Blue Boar to channel their inner Luke Littler. Meanwhile, the pool table remains a staple, with free pool available every Monday.
Externally, the pub’s outdoor area has seen an investment with new furniture and pristine festoon lighting, creating one of the cosiest outdoor areas in Frome, perfect for enjoying a pint in the warmer evenings.
Popular with football fans, the pub is equipped with Sky Sports and TNT Sports, further enhancing the pub’s position as the go-to place to watch the big match in the Somerset area. The venue also has Sky Q, meaning the pub will broadcast football matches from multiple leagues for fans who want their EFL fix.
The Blue Boar also boasts a fine selection of beers, ciders and wine, all at some of the most competitive price points in the area, as well as an extensive offering of no and low alcohol offerings, ensuring all guests are accommodated to.

The pub boasts a lively weekly events schedule, featuring bingo and free pool on Mondays, darts on Tuesdays, and a meat raffle on Wednesdays. Fridays bring card bingo, followed by karaoke late into the night.
Guests can enjoy live local music on Saturday nights, while Sundays feature an afternoon darts competition followed by a solo singer in the evening.
