Wholesome local, the Garden House in Norwich, continues to show unwavering support to its local community and receives the President’s Certificate of Recognition for ‘Selfless Service in the Community’ from Caroline Evans, President of the Rotary Club of Norwich St Edmund. This comes after the beloved community hub raised upwards of £20,000 for a range of local causes including ‘The Salvation Army Norwich’ and ‘Only a Pavement Away’.
Operators Jonathon and Tanya, along with the committed Garden House team, have made it their mission to provide much-needed supplies to local families during the UEFA European Football Championships and saw a staggering intake during last week’s final. All booking customers were kindly asked to bring some food donations along with them to the pub on Sunday, which resulted in an overwhelming amount of support. Many good-natured donations were also supplied by the local pub’s friends at the University of East Anglia, who never fail to offer their time and effort to the Garden House’s many fundraising initiatives.
The much-loved local is incredibly passionate about fundraising for its local community and will be holding ‘Family Feeds’ during the Summer Holidays, providing food supplies to local families who usually benefit from free school meals.
Jonathon, Operating Manager of the Garden House, said: “Myself and the Garden House team are committed to being a driving force for good within the local community. We strive for good and love to offer those who would like to donate to local causes with an opportunity to do so. It really is unbelievable to see the community pull together in support of an invaluable cause.”
The Garden House’s tremendous fundraising efforts form part of Craft Union’s wider ‘Make it a Million’ campaign, in which the leading pub company aims to raise £1 million in charitable donations across its tight network of UK pubs by February 2025. This comes after last year’s fundraising efforts, which saw a staggering £800,000 be rallied for a wide range of worthy causes.
Customers of the well-loved local hub are invited to take part in weekly fundraisers and food collections, and can see the incredible difference that their efforts make regularly on the Garden House’s Facebook page.
