Popular Sunderland pub, The Blue Bell Fulwell, has reopened following an exciting six-figure investment, marking a new era in the pub’s history.
Originally the flagship of the Vaux Brewery, the pub has a strong place in Sunderland locals’ hearts, with the pub now residing as the go-to spot for a cold pint and a tasty bite to eat.
As part of the renovations, the pub has undergone a full redecoration of the guest area. The additions have led to an increase in capacity by over 50, meaning more guests can enjoy the pub’s delicious dishes than ever before.
A bespoke bar games area has been designed for guests to enjoy pool and darts, with free games available every Thursday. Externally, the pub has received a fresh lick of a paint, with a trip to The Blue Bell Fulwell now looking more inviting than ever.
Astro turf has been installed on one side of the inviting beer garden, just in time for the hotter months where beer garden season is in full flow.
With Sky Sports, Premier Sports and TNT Sports on screen, sports fans at The Blue Bell Fulwell won’t miss a moment of the action, ensuring they catch every big game.
Located a five-minute walk from Seaburn Beach, dogs are more than welcome at the pub, making it a favoured spot for guests popping in for a pint with their pooch.
The Blue Bell Fulwell also boasts a fine selection of beers, ciders and wine, all at some of the most competitive price points in the area. However, the pub also has an extensive offering of no and low alcohol drinks, ensuring all guests are accommodated to.
Throughout the week, The Blue Bell Fulwell has some of the best drink deals in the area, with Monday seeing discounts on selected drinks while Sunderland fans can enjoy a 10% discount on drinks on matchday.

The pub also boasts a stacked weekly events schedule with discounted drinks on Monday, Quiz Night on Tuesday, and free pool and darts on Thursday. Guests can get double stamps on their cask card on Friday and sports are shown throughout the weekend with a special carvery available every Sunday.
Saturday is all about the Six Nations, with an action-packed final day of rugby set to crown this year’s champion. Then on Sunday, the excitement continues with the Carabao Cup Final as Arne Slot’s Liverpool faces Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in a blockbuster showdown.
