Beloved Clacton on Sea local, the Brace of Pistols, is set to reopen on Thursday 15th August following a transformative £270,000 investment. As part of the investment, the pub will reopen as a Craft Union site and the pub welcomes a new operator.

The six-figure investment into the Brace of Pistols has provided a full interior refurbishment to the site, as well as work in the rear garden and car park to create a fresh look and feel to the pub. Craft Union venues have a strong community and sports focus, and in keeping with this, the Brace of Pistols now has a refreshed and modernised dart board area and pool table, perfect for any sporting fans. The pub’s TV viewing and audio facilities have also received investment, positioning the pub as a place to be in Clacton for live bands and DJ sets.

Accompanying the aesthetic improvements is a brand-new weekly events schedule that includes a pool league every Wednesday evening, quiz night every Thursday and DJ’s and live entertainment every weekend, amongst much more!

Operator Perry Mountford will be joining the Brace of Pistols to lead the next chapter of the pub’s story. He has worked within Craft Union sites for many years and commented: “Upon seeing the Brace of Pistols, it was immediately clear this pub has so much potential, and I am so excited to be joining the team as the pub’s new operator. Craft Union pubs really place community at the heart of what they do, and I plan to make Brace of Pistols a true community hub, through events, charity fundraisers and creating a cosy friendly vibe for all to enjoy. I’m looking forward to making Clacton on Sea my home and can’t wait to get to know the locals.”

On the pub’s opening day, the Brace of Pistols will have a DJ and karaoke from 4pm and on Friday 16thAugust, high energy band, After Dark will be taking to the stage to entertain guests from 8pm. Continuing the music themed celebrations, the pub welcomes singer and guitarist Paul on Sunday 17th August for an afternoon of the best acoustic tunes.

The pub will be hosting its official launch party celebrations from Friday 23rd – Monday 26th August, just in time for the bank holiday. Guests are invited to join Brace of Pistols’ DJ party on the Friday, before a fun-filled games day takes place on Saturday 24th, that’s complete with raffles and an auction to raise funds for the RNLI, one of the pub’s chosen charities. On Sunday 25th, from 7:30pm onwards, vocalist Darrell Tyler will be joining the pub and on the Bank Holiday Monday, guests can expect a DJ set and karaoke from 4pm.
