Event Notification: Brave the Shave at the Sandwell

Lisa Smith, a member of the team at the Sandwell, will be shaving her head in the name of charity on Sunday 8th July. Lisa, alongside four friends, Brian Ellinor, Belinda Ferguson and Sheila and Sam Brady, have all committed to losing their hair on the day and have raised over £350 for Macmillan Cancer Support already.
The pub has sourced a hairdresser to participate in the event, so that they can all undertake the big shave together at 1pm. Lisa, who has been growing her hair for seven months, will also be donating her locks to Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for children suffering from cancer.
“I’m actually quite excited to have my head shaved, growing it has been fun, but I’m ready!” said Lisa. “It’s all for a good cause and Macmillan do amazing work throughout the country and have helped both my family and friends – I can’t think of a more worthwhile charity to be supporting.
“I want to thank everyone taking part in ‘Brave the Shave’ with me and of course, our local customers who are supporting us. Together we can really rally the support and raise enough money to make a real difference in someone’s life.”
