Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour (BBPT) is underway and is heading to Birmingham next week. The BBPT which is in aid of Variety, the Children’s Charity will make its way into Birmingham on Tuesday 10th June visiting thirty pubs in the City before departing for West Bromwich and the next leg of its journey on Sunday 15th June.

Each of the 620 pubs and bars from the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company will take part in the event, by organizing fundraising events galore to raise money for Variety, the Children’s Charity. As well as hosting fun events at the pubs, across towns and cities from the Isle of Wight to Inverness, a giant BBPT passport will journey 5,555 miles throughout the UK visiting each Stonegate business, by an assortment of unique and entertaining methods of transport.

As the largest pub tour ever attempted in the UK, excitement and anticipation for the event in Birmingham, where greatest conurbation of Stonegate pubs are, is already high with crowds of customers expected to participate. First stop for the BBPT Passport in the City is the Hamstead pub in Green Lane. It is set to arrive at 2pm delivered via Dr Who’s Tardis by the team at the Station in Sutton Coldfield. The passport is then scheduled to be carried from pub to pub, from Harborne to Great Barr and from Erdington to Bearwood, arriving at The Brasshouse on Broad Street at 8pm on Friday 13th June.

A giant Brazilian themed float will then transport the BBPT passport along Birmingham’s famous party street visiting Slug and Lettuce, Popworld, Reflex’s two bars and Missoula in a six hour carnival atmosphere. Alongside the float customers can take part in limbo challenges, and join in the giant congo line dancing down the street.

Along the way the BBPT will be transported via various modes of transport from a unicycle and an ice-cream van to a pram push and even a ‘flying carpet’, accompanied by an array of fancy dressed staff and customers from the pubs.

“This is our biggest charity fund-raising initiative to date and we are well on our way to raising thousands of pounds to make the lives of many families and their children that little bit easier. We also hope that our 12,000 strong team of fundraisers and our fantastic customers have a great time along the way!” said Toby Smith, Chief Executive, Stonegate Pub Company.

Andrea Strathmore, Area Manager at Stonegate Pub Company and regional BBPT coordinator said, “The teams at all of our pubs in Birmingham have really got behind Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour with bags of enthusiasm and endless fundraising ideas.
