Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour (BBPT) is underway and is heading to North Wales later this month. The BBPT which is in aid of Variety, the Children’s Charity will make its way into Bangor on Monday 30th June visiting two pubs, Old Glan and Yates’s before moving on to Llandudno, Prestatyn and Wrexham later that day.

Each of the 620 pubs and bars from the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company will take part in the event, by organizing fundraising events galore to raise money for Variety, the Children’s Charity. As well as hosting fun events at the pubs, across towns and cities from the Isle of Wight to Inverness, a giant BBPT passport will journey 5,555 miles throughout the UK visiting each Stonegate business, by an assortment of unique and entertaining methods of transport.

As the largest pub tour ever attempted in the UK, excitement and anticipation for the event in the towns it is visiting in North Wales is already high with crowds of customers expected to participate. The BBPT Passport is set to reach Old Glan at Glanrafon in Bangor from the Town Crier in Chester on Monday 30th June at 10am. Together with Yates’s, also at Glanrafon, two team members from each pub, dressed as characters from Pirates of the Caribbean will transport the BBPT Passport from Bangor Pier across to Llandudno Pier to deliver it to its next destination, Carlton on Mostyn Street. To boost funds for the charity Yates’s in Bangor will be hosting a special ‘Bands Night’ on Wednesday 25th June.

On its arrival at 12.30pm on 30th June at Carlton, the BBPT Passport will be taken across to Snowdonia and carried with pub team members Damon and Sam as they take part on Europe’s longest Zip wire challenge. Following its descent the BBPT Passport will then make its way to The William Morgan on the High Street in Prestatyn for 4.30pm where a children’s party will be in full swing. There will be a beach party throughout the afternoon with entertainment for the children in the form of a puppet show and an appearance from Spongebob and Patrick. Two team members from the pub, dressed as Baywatch characters will then take the BBPT on the next part of its journey via an old German fire-truck. The BBPT Passport will arrive at Yates’s on the High Street in Wrexham for 7pm where an end of day party will take place.

They aim to raise £4,000 across the pubs for Variety, the Children’s Charity which supports disabled children and their families nationally and locally.”

As part of the fundraising 50p from the sale of special Charity tipples, Strawberry Pimm’s or a pint of specially brewed real ale, The Crawler (Golden Blonde ale 4.1 ABV) will be donated to the Variety, the Children’s Charity.

The passport will continue its tour around the country culminating with a spectacular party at Slug and Lettuce, Tower Bridge on Friday 26 September.
