Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour (BBPT) is underway and is heading to Solihull next week. The BBPT which is in aid of Variety, the Children’s Charity will make its way into Solihull on Monday 9th June visiting four pubs and late night bars in the town – Hogshead, Slug and Lettuce, Luna and Missoula.

Each of the 620 pubs and bars from the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company will take part in the event, by organizing fundraising events galore to raise money for Variety, the Children’s Charity. As well as hosting fun events at the pubs, across towns and cities from the Isle of Wight to Inverness, a giant BBPT passport will journey 5,555 miles throughout the UK visiting each Stonegate business, by an assortment of unique and entertaining methods of transport.

As the largest pub tour ever attempted in the UK, excitement and anticipation for the event in Solihull is already high with lots support from customers already through donations. The BBPT Passport is set to arrive at Hogshead on Station Parade, delivered by staff members from Varsity in Warwick. Approximately eight members of staff from all four Solihull businesses will then take part in a sponsored walk through the streets of the town starting at 9am on Monday 9th June at Hogshead. Cheering them on will be Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Joe Tildesley and a representative from Variety, the Children’s Charity.

The team, carrying the passport will reach Slug and Lettuce at Mill Lane Arcade at 9.15am, stop at Luna and then Missoula on the High Street at 9.20am, before walking 23 miles to Fox Inn at Coton near Tamworth.

In addition, the four Solihull businesses have already joined forces to boost funds for Variety, the Children’s Charity, raising £2,500 alone over the bank holiday weekend with a variety of events including a live music evening.

“This is our biggest charity fund-raising initiative to date and we are well on our way to raising thousands of pounds to make the lives of many families and their children that little bit easier. Combined in Solihull alone they aim to raise over £3000 for Variety, the Children’s Charity which supports disabled children and their families nationally and locally.”

As part of the fundraising 50p from the sale of special Charity tipples, Strawberry Pimm’s or a pint of specially brewed real ale, The Crawler (Golden Blonde ale 4.1 ABV) will be donated to the Variety, the Children’s Charity.

The passport will continue its tour around the country culminating with a spectacular party at Slug and Lettuce, Tower Bridge on Friday 26 September.
