An exciting £250,000 transformation of one of Burgess Hill’s landmark properties on Church Street has been revealed in drawings three weeks ahead of the official opening on Friday 4th March.
Launch of brand new pub venue the Block and Gasket, comes with a staggering, twenty-two fresh new jobs, and a much longed for premium food and drink experience.
Mystery and intrigue has been building since builders, decorators and deliveries moved in to the old Jacob’s Post straight after Valentine’s Day, making it obvious that more than just a lick of paint is taking place.
Now plans released by owners Stonegate Pub Company, show an eclectic mixed environment incorporating a stylish pub with notes from the past and all the attributes of a pub moving with the times: rustic overtones, inviting warm atmosphere, mood lighting and interesting artwork.
New manager Tony Begley, brought in with vast experience in venue bars said: “The Block and Gasket is going to be huge for Burgess Hill. We are getting ready for an exclusive launch party on 4th March, with plans being revealed in coming weeks.
“We are also recruiting for our rapidly expanding team and invite dynamic, passionate, customer orientated, people to step forward and apply – our award winning training is second to none so it’s all about character and attitude.”
The new bar will bring together the best in beer and premium drinks, with no less than six craft beers on tap, the finest wines and spirits, smoothies and frappes, alongside a list of cocktails, expertly made by the extensively trained bar team.
Hand-stretched, stone-baked pizzas, freshly made to order and bursting with flavor are promised with canapés of delicious grills, classics and sharers available on the opening night.
