A pub on the Ingleby Barwick estate, Beckfields on Beckfields Avenue is honouring the Queens Diamond Jubilee, but not as you would expect with bunting and a street party, but by fundraising for charity instead.
Pub manager George Campbell and his team are to host a Las Vegas themed casino night at Beckfields on Sunday 3rd June in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The pub, which has a long association with fundraising for the cancer charity is hoping the evening will beat its previous fundraising total of £2100, achieved with a raffle in December last year.
Customers can experience the buzz of Las Vegas without stepping out of Ingleby Barwick. For just £10 a ticket they can enjoy entry into the event, an American southern style buffet, access to casino tables and games and entertainment from swing singer Simon Carter.
“We’ve got roulette tables, blackjack and quick poker lined up as well as several big win machines,” said George Campbell, general manager of Beckfields, “Customers can purchase fun money or chips with all the cash raised through this going straight to Macmillan. We’ll then be donating prizes for those who win on the tables. Several local businesses have also kindly offered some amazing prizes for our tombola on the night including a flat screen TV, i-Pad and to many more to mention.”
“I’m sure the Queen would be a bit surprised if she knew we were celebrating her milestone with a casino night but I think she’d be pretty pleased we were using it as an opportunity to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. We have some incredibly supportive regulars and local businesses so we’re really hopeful that this night will be our greatest fundraiser to date,” continued George.
The evening will commence from 7.00pm. Guests are asked to ‘Dress to Impress’. It is recommended that customers purchase tickets from the pub in advance to avoid disappointment. There will be limited tickets available on the night for sale on a first come first served basis.
