With a brand new look, The Woodside, on Ashgate Road has reopened, following a £294,000 investment into the Chesterfield-based pub.
Opening from 12pm every day, the pub makes for the perfect spot to pop in and enjoy a refreshing drink throughout the afternoon and evening, with a fantastic range of local cask ale, beers, wines and spirits available to guests, including Belvedere Vodka and Tanqueray Gin, there has also been an addition to the drinks menu, with cocktails now available. The countryside-style pub is now offering a brand new appetising menu, with a range of classic dishes including tender steaks, delicious mixed grills, gourmet burgers and the always popular Sunday roast, with a selection of meats available. The pub is also dog-friendly, ideal for popping in at the end of a long walk with your precious pooch.
Throughout The Woodside, a whole host of changes have been made to bring a refreshing feel to the popular Chesterfield pub. Receiving a complete overhaul, the interior has been redecorated with an even more homely and warm feel added to the cosy eatery.
Externally the pub’s spacious garden area has also been given a new lease of life with its furniture refurbished, new planting, lighting and signage added for guests to enjoy the sunny autumnal afternoons.
The popular pub is run by General Manager Josh North, who has been with Stonegate Group for a year, covering the running of The Friary in Leicester, The Turnpike in Doncaster and The Willow Tree in West Bridgford. Josh has worked in the hospitality industry for the past 13 years, so is well positioned to take The Woodside on following its refurbishment.
Speaking on the reopening, Josh said: “Reopening the pub with its new look has been a privilege and guests feedback so far has been amazing. It’s great to see how the updates made can restore new life to the venue and we can’t wait to show it off to our visitors over the coming months. As the Winter months approach, I’m sure visitors will enjoy our cosy feel. The wait has certainly been worthwhile, so if you’re in the area we would love to see you down here at The Woodside.”
The Chesterfield-based pub also hosts an array of entertainment including weekly live music, which is sure to be a favourite for guests following the refurbishment. The venue is to introduce a number of new events throughout the year, so do keep an eye on the pub’s social media page for regular updates.
Josh continued “We are really excited to bring a new line up of entertainment for guests now the refurbishment has been made and are looking forward to seeing our regulars back in, enjoying a range of different music acts over the coming months.”
