Pinewoods, on Wicks Green in Formby, is hosting a Christmas Market and Beer Festival on Sunday 24th November, in aid of the mental health awareness charity, Mind. Kicking off at 11am, customers can expect as many as 25 stalls on site, all with different with local produce available, as well as crafts and Christmas gifts. There will also be a pop-up bar serving eight local cask ales, mulled wine and other goodies, and a gin bar.
The event has been more than three-months in the making with General Manager, Paul Hopkins, pulling out all the stops to create something for the Formby community to thoroughly enjoy. He has teamed up with local brewery, Liverpool Brewing Company, which is bringing its selection of brews, including Liverpool IPA, 24 Carat Gold and Cascade, and organised local favourite, ‘Greatie Market’, to come down and set up a number of market stalls in a one-off partnership.
Customers will also be able to donate to Mind throughout the day, with the Formby team on had with their collection buckets. Each of the stalls taking part has also committed to kindly donating a amount of their proceeds to the charity, for their chance to be apart of day.
Paul said: “This I something I’ve been wanting to do for a really long time, and I know it’s going to be a huge success! The team and I have put a lot of effort into making it something special and I hope we can turn our Christmas Market into an annual event here at the Formby.
“We’ve got lots of delicious beers available from the guys at Liverpool Brewing Company, who also kindly signed up to do a ‘Meet the Brewer’ session, as well as tasty Christmas treats – both wet and dry varieties – and lots of stalls for people to get interactive with crafts, or just stock up on Christmas presents. There will really be something for everyone. I think the whole town will be really up for the Christmas season after our market!”
