Craft Union has reached a significant charity fundraising milestone, raising an impressive £500,000 for a range of local causes and charities across the country in six months.
After raising £800,000 in 2023, the pub company is now aiming to surpass that total, with a goal of raising £1 million by February 2025.
The £500k milestone marks the halfway point in Craft Union’s ‘Make it a Million’ campaign, highlighting the dedication of Craft Union operators and the incredible support from their guests. So far, Craft Union has raised funds for over 308 charitable causes across the UK, with many more to come.
The fundraising efforts have brought communities together, highlighting the spirit of generosity and unity that defines Craft Union and its local pubs.
Frazer Grimbleby, Managing Director at Craft Union, said: “Reaching the halfway point in our ‘Make it a Million’ campaign is a remarkable achievement, demonstrating the strength of our collective community efforts.
“I am incredibly grateful to our guests and operators for their unwavering support and enthusiasm in raising funds for local causes within their communities. Reaching the halfway mark has spurred us on even further to keep the momentum going and smash our £1 million target!”
So far, fundraising activities in Craft Union pubs across the UK have included everything from charity auctions and raffles to sponsored events and themed parties, all of which have been spearheaded by local operators coming together in a joint effort to ‘Make it a Million’.
The Garden House pub in Norwich, one of the top fundraisers, has raised an impressive £20,000 for local causes including The Salvation Army Norwich, Only a Pavement Away, and local schools. With strong support from the pub’s close-knit community, they have also donated approximately £1,000 worth of food and supplies each week to multiple charities.
Working alongside Norwich City Council and spearheaded by Operator Jonathan, the beloved pub has helped over 3,000 local children by supplying them with essentials such as toothbrushes and food boxes during the school holidays.
Future fundraising initiatives will build on the success of the past months, with even more exciting events and activities planned to inspire and involve communities nationwide as the pub company approaches £1 million.
Alongside this team achievement, the Craft Union community engaged in a ‘Craft Union Stomp’ on the 5th September where people came together to cover over 50 miles across five locations simultaneously.
From Brighton to Blackpool, teams braved the wind and rain in support of Craft Union’s mission to raise £1 million in funds to local causes and charities, with all funds raised going to the Motor Neurone Disease Association with the day raising a huge £20,000.
