Popular local pub, the Cross Keys in Hull, has been named a finalist in the Great British Pub Awards 2024 in the ‘Best Pub to Watch Sport’ category.
Since its renovation at the end of 2022, the Cross Keys has become a central sports hub in Hull. The pub boasts 13 TV screens which televise all the major live sporting events throughout the year.
In the past year, the Cross Keys team have responded to customer demand and installed an outdoor TV to ensure not a moment of sporting action will be missed. During special events such as the Euros, the Cross Keys team creates VIP areas with deals on pints, jugs and beer towers and the team work hard to create an electric atmosphere that attracts people from far and wide.
Adding to the fantastic atmosphere, the pub also features a dedicated pool table and dart board area for customers looking to try their hand at some friendly competition. On weekly pool and darts nights the Cross Keys operators invite guests to challenge them in a ‘Beat the Bosses’ game where guests can win free pints. The pub also hosts a Darts Premier League and a Tuesday Horse Racing Day as well as a weekly Talk Sport Quiz, all of which have become hugely popular with locals and have become weekly staples at the pub.

The winners of the Great British Pub Awards will be unveiled on Tuesday 17th September at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester. The event promises to be a glittering evening, celebrating the exceptional achievements of the very best in the pub industry.
