The award-winning Craft Union Pub Company recently invested £133,000 into a town centre pub, the Darlington Flyer.
Since reopening its doors there have been many guests visiting the new-look venue including MP for Darlington, Peter Gibson.
On hand to warmly welcome Peter to the Darlington Flyer were Operator Kelly Whelan and the pub team, who were quick to start showing him around the pub.
On the tour, Kelly was able to tell Peter first-hand all about what changes had been made during the renovation, including a revamp to the interior and exterior as well as the enhancement to the pub’s sports offering with the installation of a pool table and darts area.
Peter Gibson MP said: “My recent visit to the Darlington Flyer to see the refurbishment was impressive and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Kelly and the team. I think the pub looks brilliant and it was nice to see customers enjoying their new surroundings.
“I learned a lot about the work Kelly does in the community and how pubs play a part in their local communities. I encourage Kelly to keep up the fantastic work and look forward to the next time I pop in.”
Kelly commented: “Our wonderful pub has really benefited from its recent investment and the team and I, are really keeping standards high for our guests. We welcome lots of members of the local community, so it was great to tell Peter all about the work we do. The Darlington community is a huge part of the pub and everything we do.
“Having Peter visit was so nice, and we cannot wait to welcome him back sometime soon.”
The Darlington Flyer always has something going on for the local community to get involved with, so why not pop down to enjoy some live music or take advantage of their great sports offering. With nine TV screens, a projector and games facilities there is something for everyone.
