The Tiller Pin pub in Leamington Spa is planning on celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in style by decking the pub in red, white and blue and hosting three days of family fun events in honour of the monarch’s milestone.
The pub has an action-packed weekend in store that all the family can enjoy from tots to grandparents. Throughout the whole weekend children (and the big kids!) can try their hand at a few challenges from hula hoop and garden skittle competitions to space hopper races. There will also be a bouncy castle and facepainting.
Saturday night sees the party kick into gear with live music from The Outrageous Misfits from 8.30pm. The competition gets serious with an adult skittles challenge at 2pm on Sunday followed by a special Jubilee themed fun quiz at 8.30pm.
There will be more challenges on bank holiday Monday with a parent and child egg and spoon race at 2pm followed by ‘It’s a Knockout’ pool competition from 7pm.
Pub manager Sharon Haymes said, “The Diamond Jubilee is such an incredible milestone we wanted to celebrate in a traditional way by including all ages in some classic summer games. It’s a great excuse to let our hair down, meet and make friends with people in our community and celebrate together. We have chosen Myton Hospice as our charity to support this year and donations received from customers throughout the weekend will go towards helping the hospice provide its incredible care to those in need.”
