Yates’s on Bridge Street in Swindon closed over the weekend to make way for an investment of over £160,000. The refurbishment by the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company, who own and operate Yates’s, will create five new jobs.

Yates’s general manager, Paul Mellor has organised Matt Lapinskas from Eastenders and Dancing on Ice fame to officially open the new-look Yates’s on Thursday 23rd May. Yates’s will open from 7pm and Matt is expected to arrive to meet and greet the crowds from 10pm.

Speaking about the planned changes, Paul Mellor who is also the town’s Pubwatch Chairman said: “It’s been some time since our last investment but it’s certainly going to be worth the wait. The plans for the site are nothing short of incredible – Yates’s is going to look really stylish and modern. It’s also going to be the place where people come to have great times and can be assured of the very best customer service.

“We’re completely updating the decor, the sound system and we’ll be introducing a VIP booth which can be pre-booked for parties, events or to give a night out with friends a really special touch. Not only do you have your own booth, which seats up to eight people, you’ll also have your own bartender who will wait on you throughout the night, meaning no more queuing at the bar!”
Another new element to be introduced to the Yates’s offer is the new food and drink menu.

Eight fresh, vibrant healthy dishes all under 500 calories; a new, delicious Hero burger, where 50p from every burger sold goes to Help for Heroes, and the introduction of children’s meals to the menu where, for just £1.99, children can get a meal and a drink, are just some of the highlights.

The team at Yates’s have also added a range of new dishes to the menu to reflect the change in season and a selection of these mouth-watering dishes are included in the offer whereby you can get two meals starting from £7.95.

Paul said: “We’ve worked on a number of areas of the menu and improved them even further, including the presentation of the dishes, offering the best deals in town.

“Our burger range is one of the best-selling sections on the menu so I’m sure that Yates’s will raise a significant amount of money for Help for Heroes via our 50p donation through every Hero burger sold. It’s a great cause and one that we are delighted to support.

“Yates’s has been open for 15 years and the team and I are proud to be a part of this community. We’re famed for our great value for money deals and providing the best party in town and now, we’ll be delivering that in the very best environment.”
