Five new jobs are to be created at Ashby–De-La-Zouch pub, Bulls Head next week when it re-opens following a £130,000 makeover. General manager Marie Kelleher is looking to recruit the extra team members in both front-of-house and kitchen roles in anticipation of a busy summer at the grade II listed pub.
In celebration of the refurbishment, Marie and her team have planned a two day circus themed party on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th July. Kicking off with a complimentary champagne reception from 8pm on both nights, customers will be treated to performances from stilt walkers, fire breathers and magicians during the circus themed evenings. Customers can enjoy a barbeque in the newly spruced up garden before rocking the night away courtesy of the pub’s resident DJ X.
Sunday sees the Big Top theme continue with a special one-off circus workshop from 1pm during the pub’s family fun day. Children and adults alike, can pick up juggling and clown tricks throughtout the afternoon. As well as circus fun, there will be a soft play area for younger children, a bouncy castle, face painting and a cake stall. The pub is also holding a charity raffle in aid of Burton hospital’s neonatal unit, with prizes donated from local businesses.
Speaking of the refurbishment and launch weekend Marie Kelleher said, “There’s a real buzz in the town already about the refurbishment and of course the opening weekend. I’m particularly excited about the garden and I hope the sun holds for the whole summer so our customers can really enjoy it at is best.”
The pub re-opens with several great food and drink offers. The Sunday roast is available for just £5.75 per person and includes a complimentary dessert, whilst on Thursdays customers can enjoy and curry and a drink for £5.95 or two for the price of one cocktails. A new ‘Silver Saver’ discount on meals for pensioners is being introduced, alongside both cask ale and coffee loyalty cards. The pub will serve a great range of cask ales including locally sourced ones and as a CAMRA registered pub all CAMRA members will receive a discount on real ales too.
