The Famous Three Kings in Fulham has been shortlisted in the Best Pub to Watch Sport category of The Great British Pub Awards 2021.
Since winning ‘Best Sports Pub’ three years running at the Great British Pub Awards until 2018, the team at The Famous Three Kings has gone from strength to strength. With a recent investment of nearly £200,000 improving its already difficult to match sports viewing facilities, the pub now shows more than 50 sports, across 36 TVs, two projectors, four Sky boxes, one Freeview and nine foreign boxes, allowing us to show 1000’s of channels.
The pub has now further embraced women into its offer, both by showing a wide range of Women’s Sports, and by diversifying our menu and offers to include more traditionally female-friendly options. They have added a number of vegan options to the menu and introduced a weekend Bottomless Brunch, where customers can choose from either lager, cocktails or prosecco to complement our delicious brunch options. Whilst it hasn’t been about pigeonholing genders into specific food and drink preferences, it has been an outward declaration of the inclusivity of the Famous Three Kings, and of sports viewing in general.
Paul Eastwood, general manager of the Famous Three Kings, said: “The pandemic has allowed us to build on the services already ingrained in our offer too. We have improved our bookings system, allowing customers to pre-purchase food and drinks packages, and the rollout of our order and pay app has allowed us to enhance our table service offer for both big matches and for business, day-to-day. I am proud to continue to improve our sports viewing facilities, but this year I’m particularly proud to say we have become a more all-encompassing business.”
The Great British Pub Awards recognise, reward and celebrate the fantastic work pubs do for our country and their communities. With over entries spanning across ten categories, the shortlisted pubs will now go through a second round of judging to be crowned the overall winner.
Paul continued: “I am delighted that we have been shortlisted in this year’s Great British Pub Awards – this is a fantastic achievement in itself. It has been a challenging year for everyone and I would like to thank all our customers for their continued support.”
