The UK is being called to the dancefloor as Stonegate Group launches ‘Get Britain Dancing’ – a nationwide movement to bring people together, let loose, and reignite the magic of a packed dancefloor. At Stonegate, we believe in bringing people together through our passion for great pubs, bars, and venues, and this campaign is a perfect reflection of that mission.
Nightclubs and late-night venues have long been the heartbeat of unforgettable nights out, where friendships are made, relationships spark, and the best memories are created. But when was the last time you truly let go and danced like nobody’s watching?
On Friday 21st February, 79 of Stonegate’s late-night venues, including Popworld and Walkabout sites up and down the country, will throw open their doors for an epic night out designed to get the UK moving. With iconic club anthems, a buzzing atmosphere, and an excuse to hit the dancefloor with your best mates, this is your sign to grab your dancing shoes and go all in.
To make it even more special, guests can enjoy free entry all night and two free drinks (one before 11pm and another at 1am via the MiXR app).
We love a night out – the stats prove it
To celebrate the campaign, Stonegate surveyed 2,000 UK adults and uncovered some fun facts about the nation’s love of a great night out:
- 74% say they feel happier after a night out
- 33% met a partner for the first time in a nightclub
- 59% say ‘Mamma Mia’ by ABBA is the ultimate club anthem, while 65% would ban ‘Barbie Girl’ by Aqua
- 54% would most like to hit the dancefloor with Adele, with Idris Elba (41%) and David Beckham (37%) also making the top three
- Martin Lewis (29%) and national treasures David Attenborough (27%) and Stephen Fry (24%) were close behind
- Aberdeen loves a night out more than anywhere else, with 88% of Aberdonians saying they love hitting the dancefloor – 14% more than Londoners!
Also, one in three Brits (33%) have met a partner for the first time in a nightclub, proving just how much nightlife still plays a key role in modern love stories. One in ten (10%) even had their first-ever kiss on a night out.
What’s more, Brits love of a night out often spans more than their love of their other half, as 50% of Gen Zers revealed they would prefer a night out than spending a cosy night in with their partner!

“Popworld, Flares and Walkabout are staples of a classic night out in the UK, and with ‘Get Britain Dancing,’ we’re making it easier than ever for people to have fun, be themselves and get dancing in some of the best late-night venues in the country.”
