Grant Arms in Kings Norton has reopened following a £242,000 investment into the popular Midlands venue.

Receiving a complete transformation, the venue’s new look interior sees a new lease of life given to the pub with a lighter and more open look and feel.

The investment into the pub has seen a host of changes including a refurbishment of the bar’s seating area, bringing a new more comfortable, modern and airy environment. Likewise in the garden, the seating area has been revitalised adding covered areas and additional seating to allow for more guests to enjoy the summer sun.

With eleven large TVs throughout the pub showing BT Sport and Sky Sports, there’s no better place in town to catch all of the best sporting action live with your friends and family, as Grant Arms enjoys the start of the new football season. Also, entertaining guests will be the venue’s new darts area, with an illuminated dartboard creating the perfect opportunity for a little competition between friends. This is alongside the new pool table area which will become a focal point of the sporting activities on offer.

The pub has been a pillar of the local community for over 90 years, first opening its doors in 1930. The venue is situated in Kings Norton, a village area of Birmingham laying 6.5 miles south of the city centre. In 1616, King James granted permission to hold markets and fairs at Kings Norton and, in 2005, a new farmers’ market was set up operating on The Green once a month.

Grant Arms is open every day from 10am so it’s the perfect venue to pop in and have a refreshing drink this summer. The bar stocks quality beers, wines and spirits with well-known local, national and international names. The drinks menu also features a good choice of interesting low and no-alcohol drinks too.

The pub is Operated by Brian Jones and Wendy who are both local to the Kings Norton area and have worked in numerous pub businesses across their careers. Brian has been working at the wonderful Grant Arms for 6 ½ years and has a fantastic relationship with the local community.

Speaking on the refurbishment, Operator at Grant Arms, Brian Jones said: “We’re really excited to welcome guests back to the pub once again after the refurbishment. I’m thrilled and very proud to oversee this fantastic local pub through its redevelopment, I really couldn’t be more pleased with how it has turned out. Wendy and I are very excited to see our guest’s faces when they see the new look for the first time. We have a pub here in the heart of the community and I think this refurbishment will be really important for the local people.”
