The Harborne Stores, a popular community pub, received a £110,000 boost as locals were rewarded with a VIP launch party held on the 24 November.

 

One of the most giving community pubs opened its doors following a 10 day closure to spruce up the pub, refresh the menu and to celebrate the big-hearted fund raising efforts of their loyal customers.

 

The pub, known for its tremendous charity support has recently raised over £6,000 for two worthy charities – Parkinson’s UK and Cancer Research UK and took this opportunity to treat its regulars to bubbly and tasters from the new menu. Local DJ, Ash Reggae, took to the decks playing all the favourite tunes to get the party started.

 

The £100,000 investment sees the exterior don a more warm and welcoming aura. A greater choice of cask ales, hand-picked from local brewers whilst keeping national favourites Wainwrights’ Greene King IPA, Pedigree and Hobgoblin join the extensive new dinks menu with two hand pulled ciders, 7 lagers and a spirits emporium including ten varieties of gin, an extended range of whiskeys, 6 punch bowls and to top it all off cocktails are 241 all day everyday.

 

Speaking of the pub’s fresh appearance General Manager of over 11 years, Charlene Shams said, “We were so excited to reveal our fresh new look to our lovely loyal locals. It was also a great opportunity to thank them for the tremendous support they have given to our charity fundraising efforts over the last few months.”

 

Sports socials will stay at the forefront of the pubs entertainment with 6 large-screen HD TV’s, 3 Sky Boxes offering multiple sports viewing, and firmly positioning Harborne Stores as the only pub in the vicinity to host all the Boxing, and just about everything else in the realms of sports viewing fare.

 

The popular local is bringing weekly quiz nights back making each Monday and Thursday a testing time; Tuesday Club will continue discount deals on selected drinks and the party will be kept upbeat all day on Fridays with Karaoke from 3pm straight through until the in house DJ takes over at 7pm!! Saturdays sees the introduction of Reggae nights with Karaoke topping the popular spot on Sundays.

 

Also on offer are Mighty Monday’s big plate go large specials; Tuesday’s burger and free drink; Wednesday is pie and a pint deal; Thursday Chicken dish and a free drink; whilst Friday is Best of British and a free drink.
