Event Notification: It’s Just Good Cricket at the Windmill
Where: The Windmill, Hilltop, Derby DE21 4FY
When: Sunday 1st July
Time: 1pm
The Windmill, on Hilltop, is set to take part in a Charity Cricket Match this Sunday 1st July, to raise money for the Air Ambulance Service. The match will take place at the Breedsville Village Oval, where they will be competing against a team from nearby pub, The Bell and Harp.
The two teams will play a 20-over match to see who comes out top, before heading back to the Windmill for a well-earned BBQ feast. All the proceeds from the BBQ will be donated to the charity and there will be buckets available for donation throughout the day.
The Cricket Match Fundraiser is now into its seventh year and is organised by local men, Steven Morley and Mark Wilkinson, who together with the Windmill raised enough money for the pitch, through several fundraising initiatives over the last few weeks.
Benjamin Sedgewick, Manager of the Windmill, said, “I’m really pleased the team and I can be involved in Steven and Mark’s event. It’s a pleasure to help out and always a lot of fun, all in the name of a good cause. It’s amazing how generous the local community is too, we always manage to raise a tidy little sum for the Air Ambulance Service.”
