The most contemporary pub yet to hit Cheadle Hulme, launched last night Thursday 16th March after a transformation that seemed so good to be true some doubted it could ever happen.
Mayor of Stockport, Cllr Chris Gordon, was on hand to pull the first pint (probably craft) at the King’s Tap on Station Road, (previously King’s Hall) which has seen a further £300,000 poured into a renovation that follows the acquisition by new owners last year.
The bang on trend bar boasts tastes of cutting-edge craft beers set against an eye-catching neon-lit back wall of taps, a whole new urban-style menu, botanically infused gins, and hi-tech sports viewing facilities.
Designed for the aspiring fashionista, hipster, and stylist, the artisan and stylish warmth was revealed as guests sample signature dish stonebaked pizzas and tapas before acoustic duo the ‘Get Back Beats’ set the music scene of the pub’s future.
Lauren Botting, a manager passionate about urbanised craft pubs, said: “We bought the pub in October last year and I think at first Cheadle was frustrated that not much seemed to change whilst we were making our big plans.
“We are absolutely not going to disappoint though! The Kings Tap is unrecognisable from the pub it was before. We’re a chic day to night venue now, breakfast from full English to Eggs Rarebit right through to sophisticated party evenings with a smart casual dress code.”
Joining craft beers Punk IPA, Hophouse and Camden Pale Ale, are local ales including Moorhouses brewed house ale for the Kings Tap; Estrella, Peroni, and Symonds Cider.
Seven deadly gins – a spectrum of distilled gins paired with exotic garnishes, and cocktails, 241 Monday to Friday 5-8pm, compliment the range.
As well as on trend street food pizzas and tapas, burgers with own recipe beef patties, salads, breakfasts as diverse as the pub and the best, Sunday roasted hand-carved meats with all the trimmings.
Sky and BT will air through new TVs visible from anywhere in the pub and with three zones, there will no longer be one choice to make from football, boxing, cricket, NFL, and racing.
There’s a reason to visit every day of the week such as Tapas Tuesdays; 241 pizza Thursday; Fizz Friday; Sunday quiz; live acoustics and party music DJ Friday and Saturday.
