Beloved Newcastle pub, the Windsor, has reopened following an exciting six-figure investment, with the renovations marking the beginning of a new chapter for the homely pub.
The venue closed its doors in November for the transformation, with extensive work taking place behind the scenes to introduce new features, with the popular pub keeping its character but adding exciting new additions.
Situated on Windsor Way, the pub has established itself as Kingston Park’s ultimate destination for pub sports, featuring a new darts area perfect for local league players and a dedicated space for pool enthusiasts with a new pool table being installed.
The pub is now equipped with Sky Sports and TNT Sports, and with a new state-of-the-art audio-visual system installed, guests far and wide are welcomed to the Windsor.
The Windsor is also equipped with Sky Q, meaning the pub will broadcast football matches from multiple leagues for fans who need their EFL fix.
The investment has led to a large new spacious patio area being added, perfect for getting some fresh air while enjoying a tasty tipple. In the hotter months, the outdoor space is anticipated to become the go-to spot for locals to enjoy soaking up the sun in a cosy surrounding.
Situated near popular walking spots, this popular venue is also a favourite among guests stopping by for a pint with man’s best friend.
It also boasts a fine selection of beers, ciders and wine, all at some of the most competitive price points in the area, as well as an extensive offering of no and low alcohol offerings, ensuring all guests are accommodated to.
Wendy Graham, Operator at the Windsor, said: “We’ve been working hard behind the scenes for the past few weeks so it’s been great to welcome guests, both old and new, back to our pub.
“The feedback we’ve received from our guests about how much they love the new décor and all the new features we’ve invested in has been brilliant to hear!
“We know the work completed has not only enhanced our warm and welcoming atmosphere but also strengthened the pub’s community spirit, which was at the heart of our thoughts during the investment.”
The Windsor also boasts a huge events programme with the pub providing a reason to visit every day. Monday is free pool all day, you can try your luck on Tombola Tuesday, while Wednesday offers guests to try their hand at Poker Night.
Thursday invites the smartest in Kingston Park down to test their knowledge at Quiz Night and Friday’s Jukebox Party is the place to be for a night out.
Saturday is all about karaoke, while the weekend hosts a whole range of the best live sport on the pub’s HD screens.
On Christmas Day, the pub will be hosting a special £500 giveaway, with every drink purchased coming with a raffle ticket.
The Windsor will also be showing this weekend’s blockbuster heavyweight clash as Tyson Fury faces Oleksandr Usyk in a bid to avenge his defeat. Meanwhile, an epic New Year’s Eve celebration is in store, featuring locals’ favourite, Tommy and the Oddballs, delivering a fun-filled night of music and entertainment.
