Leigh-on-Sea’s most popular community pub is getting a £300,000 boost as owners thank its loyal customers and dedicated managers of fifteen years for the success of what the Oakwood pub has become today.

The traditional farmhouse built from the roots up has become such a success, emerging from its originally intended meeting place to the present-day bustling pub, that Stonegate Pub Company agreed it deserved the best in amenities and modern-day offer.

The pub will now open until 1am at weekends so there is no longer a need to travel into town after one of the Oakwood’s legendary party nights. Sport remains a huge focus for the pub with BT Sports, Sky and multiple screens, and the odd entertaining ‘tete de tete’ between managers Chelsea supporter John, and wife Sally, a big West Ham supporter.
