Eleanor Smith MP recently visited the Slug & Lettuce, Wolverhampton, to see behind the scenes of the significant £400,000 investment in the site, completed at the end of last year.
During her visit, Ms Smith met General Manager, Claire Turner and Area Manager, Andy Palfreyman. She was given a tour of the venue and learnt about Stonegate’s apprenticeships, training and development schemes. Ms Smith also tried her hand at making a Pornstar Martini, the signature cocktail of the bar chain.
Following her visit, Eleanor Smith said: “I was really impressed with the newly refurbished Slug and Lettuce, it is a fantastic new versatile, female-friendly venue for Wolverhampton.
I was pleased to hear about the development opportunities available to staff, and I admire Stonegate’s ethos which encourages its staff to rise through the ranks. This results in an extremely high rate of internal promotions, showing a commitment to its people.”
