The Myrtle Tavern, Meanwood has been shortlisted as a finalist in the category of Stonegate Group Pub Partner Pub of the Year at the Great British Pub Awards 2022.
Having won the title of Stonegate Group Pub Partner Pub of the Year in 2021, The Myrtle Tavern team are hoping their winning streak continues this year.
Licensee Scott Westlake took over the Myrtle Tavern in 2011 and has made the pub into a central hub for the local community. The quaint country style pub has space for everyone, with snug corners, a spacious bar area and traditional dining space. Within the pub you can enjoy a tipple of your favourite drink including a range of cask ales and Gins, which will also pair lovely with the delicious food menus. The pub has a main food menu, which features fish and chips and homemade steak and Guinness pie, whilst the terrace menu includes salads, light bites and snacks.
As well as the pubs delightful food and drinks offering, they have recently introduced an adults gaming area located in the secret garden marquee. There is a pool table, dart board and space for a game of beer pong, which is great for some friendly competition between friends. The pub also has a large beer garden which is perfect for having drinks under the sun in the warmer months and definitely captures the garden in all its glory. If you are brining your kids along then the pub has a children’s play area which will keep them occupied, whilst you sit back with a drink.
There is always something going on at the pub, especially with never ending entertainment that is certainly not to be missed, so there is always a reason to pop in. Scott and The Myrtle Tavern team do all they can to make the pub a space where everyone within the Meanwood area can come to relax, spend time with friends and family and have some fun.

The awards recognise pubs, and their teams across the country for their amazing efforts and hard work undertaken to makes Britain’s pubs great for their communities. Two rounds of judging have already taken place to choose the finalists, and further judging will commence over the summer with pub visits taking place.
The Great British Pub Awards are taking place on Tuesday 4 October 2022 at the Escape to Freight Island in Manchester.
