The much anticipated launch of High Street bar and restaurant, Missoula, and late nightclub, Luna, took place in Solihull earlier this month, and certainly didn’t disappoint.
Missoula and Luna, opened on consecutive nights on Thursday 1st November and Friday 2nd November. Both businesses are owned and operated by Stonegate Pub Company and are managed by experienced Solihull licensee Emma Pugh. A six-figure sum has been spent refurbishing of the High Street building that houses the two businesses, transforming it beyond all recognition and creating fifty-three new jobs combined across the two, in the process.
Solihull Missoula, is the thirteenth Missoula to open across the country. Famed for its exquisite décor, sumptuous food and gorgeous cocktails Solihull Missoula promises to deliver all that and more. Large window seat booths, suitable for groups of up to twenty people overlook the frontage of the building, whilst fabric designs, pictures and lighting echo its New Mexican influences. A sophisticated new computerized kitchen management system has been installed, ensuring that customer orders are processed, monitored and delivered swiftly each and every time. The bar will serve breakfast daily from 9.00am, providing a perfect coffee stop for shoppers or as a meeting venue away from the office. Customers can pop in for a light bite, sharing snack or enjoy a more leisurely meal from Missoula’s American inspired range, which includes its signature dish, pizza, freshly rolled, topped with the house sauce and baked to order. No visit to Missoula is complete without trying one of the eight margaritas on the menu, served to choice in a stylishly stemmed margarita glass or short, but stocky, in a jam jar on the rocks!
Meanwhile, next door the buzz created by the launch of Luna had Solihull partygoers in a wave of excited frenzy. Champagne bar serving gold-plated ACE champagne, exclusive waitress-served VIP party booths, iPad linked drinks menu pads, mesmerizing led lighting displays and weekly celebrity DJs make this new nightclub, oh so hot.
Those customers lucky enough to secure opening night tickets were wowed with complimentary cocktails and canapés in Missoula on Thursday 1 November, with entertainment in the form of stiltwalkers, fire breathers, tricks from the über-talented magician and live music courtesy of House Jammerz. Whilst one very fortunate customer, Jessica Bailey, walked away with £500 in cash having cracked the code and opened the safe in a game hosted by general manager Emma Pugh. Made in Chelsea stars Cheska and Louise officially opened Luna on Friday 2 November whilst Only Way is Essex star Lauren Pope joined customers, as guest DJ, with her friend and fellow TOWIE celebrity Gemma Collins.
Upcoming events at Luna, which is open from 9.30pm until 2am every Friday and Saturday, include celebrity guest DJ set from Michael André, brother of Peter. Such is the buzz around Luna several high profile celebrities including Made in Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews, have made VIP booth bookings.
“Our first couple of weeks have been hugely successful for both Missoula and Luna”, said Emma Pugh, general manager, “The town is in need of a bar with a touch of sophistication and Missoula certainly oozes that, whilst in Luna, I’m proud to say we’ve created a nightclub that rivals the best Birmingham has to offer. With its exclusive seating layout and mezzanine level framing the dancefloor, Luna has an intimate and luxurious feel and is sure to be on the radar of any discerning West Midlands clubber.”
