To herald the start of the great British summer and the showcase of all things great and good about the Great British pub, Molloy’s on Watford’s Parade, which is owned by the national pub operator, Stonegate Pub Company, will be hosting a celebration of some of Britain’s best brews.
Running from Thursday 5th April until Sunday 7th May, the pub will be showcasing a range of beers to satisfy the growing interest from consumers in British craft beers. The 24 beers that will appear over the four week period include Ringwood’s Boondoggle, Brakespears Oxford Gold, Marston’s Me Duck, Jennings Snecklifter and Caledonian’s Deuchars IPA.
In addition to hosting the real ale festival, the pub has also unveiled a new menu. A selection of new dishes on the menu include Lemon and Pepper Chicken – crispy coated chicken fillets topped with melting lemon and pepper butter served with chips and peas; Three-Cheese and Caramelised Onion Tart served with a dressed salad or chips and peas and the Super Food Salad – spinach, broccoli, butternut squash and pomegranate served with a lime and chilli dressing with a choice of either feta cheese or sliced chicken breast.
All of these new items feature under the pub favourites section where customers can enjoy two dishes starting from just £8.95. Other great money saving deals including a burger and a drink for £6.95, a bloomer, wrap, ciabatta or jacket and a drink for £5.45 and two for one on all delicious desserts.
Other dishes to make an appearance on the menu are the new sharing plates – the Fisherman Plate Sharer is a selection of hand-battered haddock goujouns, calamari, wholetail scampi and butterfly king prawns with a dipping sauce. Customers can also chose the Sausage Plate Sharer which offers a selection of mini sausages from an award-winning butcher; Cumberland, pork and leek and caramelised red onion served with ciabatta and a mustard mayonnaise dip.
Simon Lucas from the Stonegate Pub Company said: “We’ve introduced some great new dishes on the menu including the Boozy Beef Pie which was created by one of our chefs in a pub in Weybridge as part of a company competition – it’s definitely worth a visit for the pie alone!
“We’ve been chatting to our customers and we’ve had lots of feedback about how people like to have a snack over a drink or two so we’ve introduced the new sharing plates to suit that occasion. The sausage plate sharer is really tasty and I think they are set to become a favourite on the menu.”
