Discover a new £300,000 bar on Middlesbrough’s bustling Nelson Street when it opens on 27th November. Breathing a gust of fresh air into the town centre there’s a focus on sport, traditional pub fare and cask ales, with four new jobs created for the community.

 

Introducing the ‘Discovery’, a comforting place to rest weary legs after a days shopping, a community haven fit for Middlesbrough’s sports enthusiast, and a party goer’s paradise at weekend.

 

“Our day to night offer means we can offer locals great food breakfast through to dinner a big night out, and uninterrupted live sports. It really is a home away from home in the heart of Middlesbrough town centre,” said General Manager James Alls.

 

The VIP launch on Friday 2nd December at 5pm will showcase the transformational new décor, cask ales, tasters of the most proper of pub food, and an introduction to the pub’s new entertainment line up as the resident DJ takes to the decks from 9pm, a sign of what’s to come as part of their high energy weekends.

 

Sky and BT sports take pride of place on 6 HD TV screens showing everything from boxing to rugby or NFL and everything in between. The team even go above and beyond to ensure you never miss a score by offering table service during big games.

 

“We have introduced six cask pumps so local beer lovers can enjoy a vast selection of brews. As many of our pumps our rotational we are open to recommendations and are already in touch with local breweries,” added James.

 

There are also craft alternatives Bluemoon and Punk IPA. Premium spirits line the bar and gin has become a focal point with a plethora of the tasty botanicals like Hendricks, Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire paired with fruity accompaniments like pomegranate and elderflower tonic or raspberry lemonade.

 

There’s quirky twists on pub favourites with the piece de resistance pizza pie – the perfect blend of everyone favourite indulgences, pastry dough with a mozzarella and meat or mushroom filling – it’s the perfect winter warmer. If you’re watching your waistline the new calorie counter section lets you enjoy tasty dishes like the Mexican pasta boats and guilt free chicken burger for under 450 calories, cosy pub nights just got tastier.

 

Entertainment will know no bounds with Monday night live football and open the box, Tuesday quiz night, Wednesday raffle, Friday and Saturday DJ sets, and Sunday recovery with a traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings.

 

Open from 9am-11pm Monday-Thursday and 2am Friday and Saturday, it’s idyllic for a breakfast bite with friends, a relaxed dining experience, an after work wind down or high energy party weekends with friends.

 

The development has replaced the previous Yates format, whilst the pub is still owned by Stonegate Pub Company.
