New Garden For City Pub The Minories Following £205,000 Investment
The Minories in Tower Hill has a fantastic new garden, with twice as much space as the previous one, following a £205,000 investment by owner Stonegate Pub Company.
Nestled underneath Tower Gateway tube station, the 60-year old pub, which is built into the arches beneath Fenchurch Street viaduct, oozes charm and character with a barrelled ceiling and booth seating. And while outdoor space for pubs in the city is a rarity, The Minories is lucky enough to have a heated beer garden with an outdoor TV screen.
But following the investment, the brand new garden has almost double the capacity with seating for over 200 people, after Stonegate spotted the opportunity to purchase nearby land from Transport For London (TFL) and extend the existing outdoor space.
As well as new flooring and fencing, the garden has four fabulous eight-seater private booths, each with its own heating and lighting, plus a TV and sockets for customers to charge their phones. In addition, a huge 30-seat pergola and a butterfly awning will ensure there is plenty of under-cover seating. The garden also has a number of large TV screens and best of all, an outdoor bar and a fish and chip shop!
The inside of the pub has also recently had a makeover too, with a new front and back bar, new furniture and lighting and improved external signage.
“The new improved garden means that we have one of the best outdoor spaces in the city,” said manager, Naveen Vangala. “All the covered areas – private booths, pergola and awning – have heating, making them cosy year round. The outdoor bar will carry the full range of drinks and customers are going to love having their own fish and chip shop in the garden!”
The new garden opened to the public on Wednesday 8th August.
