Weybridge High Street will be oozing urban zest when new pub the Block and Gasket opens on Monday 30th October at 5pm, addressing the needs of the town’s modern pub goers.

The £270,000 investment creating five new jobs is designed for the aspiring fashionista, hipster and stylist bringing a contemporary edge to lively weekends, with an abundance of cask and craft beers, quirky menu and array of gins putting the jewel in its crown.

Situated moments away from the York monument dating back to 1822 the new pub blends historic heritage with a modern fusion – and whether it’s drinks with the girls, dinner for two, social outing or the warm up to a lively weekend, it’s a masterpiece of tastes.

A VIP event Friday 3rd November will showcase premium, aspiring and on trend with fizz, craft and menu tasters accompanied by a background of acoustics from Richie Jay 7-9pm. Lilley’s Cider will be on hand to discuss all things craft cider as well as local Dorking brewery discussing their unique brews. The party will ramp up with a sign of what’s to come as DJ Fifty Disco takes to the decks from 9pm.

“We are bringing something really different to Weybridge, we’re keeping the best of traditional but bringing Weybridge up to date with emerging trends and a unique day to night offer,” said manager Maria Dabrowska.

“We fill the gap of the need of a chic stylish pub locally and we have lots of great live music nights coming up, so watch this space!”

Quirky décor and funky memorabilia adorn the walls and neon lights illuminate the shrine to the craft ale revolution with ten craft beers and ciders including Lilley’s craft cider.

The fifty-five variations of cocktails are 2-4-1 Monday to Friday from 5-8pm ranging from the classic porn star martini to caramel old-fashioned and lemon grass swizzle. An expansive gin range includes rhubarb and elderflower and citrus flavour.

The menu is an abundance of contemporary dishes ranging from the en mode sourdough pizza with eleven variations to the juiciest Japanese Wagyu beef burgers wrapped in paper so they continue steaming from grill to plate. Pair that with tapas, like the tender BBQ beef burnt ends or the crispy bacon straws and you’ve got the ultimate social soiree.

The Block and Gasket has also lined up Quiz nights, retro games nights, live entertainment with a mix of acoustic, open mic, live bands and resident DJ to keep party weekends energetic.

The development, replaces the Slug & Lettuce, and is owned by Stonegate Pub Company.

Ends 25th October
