Residents in Wolverhampton are in for a treat this January, as popular bar the Royal London is due to reopen its doors following a facelift on Friday 27th January 2017. Located on Wulfrana Street, the reopening follows an investment of £300,000 into the overhaul of the site, which has also created eight new jobs for the local area.
Originally the building where Snape the Tailor made Norman Wisdom’s stage suits, the site’s new look is a far cry from what it used to be. Now, the bar offers customers a clean, refreshed and engaging setting to relax, dine and be entertained. The stress-free atmosphere during the daytime is perfect for customers to watch sports or enjoy a great value meal, before evolving into a stylish hangout in the evenings and at the weekend.
The re-opening of the site will see the introduction of free super-fast Wi-Fi, a printing station and charging points for mobile phones, tablets and laptops so that guests can make the most of the refined space when working away from home, university or the office. Pool tables and a selection of retro games will be available to help customers wind down after a busy day.
A fresh food and drink menu has also been introduced, serving a range of full-flavour dishes including burgers, ribs and sharing trays alongside a ‘Greenhouse’ section dedicated to tasty vegetarian and vegan meals. Customers can wash their food down with one of the bar’s draught craft beers and ciders from around the globe, which will be on rotation allowing guests to sample great beers from all corners of the world as well as regional favourites.
What’s more, customers with a cause to celebrate will be able to raise a glass whatever day of the week as the Royal London boasts an array of offers and events, including Double Point Mondays that will allow customers to make the most of their loyalty cards, Bingo Wings on Wednesdays that combines bingo with the opportunity to purchase wings at just 25p each. Thursday sees Clash of the Cans where all canned cocktails, canned craft beer and canned cider available for £3 from 5pm on Thursdays. Finishing off the week with #RoyalBash and Speed Quizzing on Sundays, there will be a reason to visit every day of the week. The bar is also introducing a brand new night, Steampunk, which will see it partner with local businesses in the area – not only will it include an eclectic mix of music, but the first Tuesday customers will be able to have their hair and make up done at the bar. Other partners scheduled for the coming weeks include the British Heart Foundation, providing somewhere to donate and purchase clothes to raise money for a great cause.
Kate Howell, General Manager at Royal London said, “We’re really excited to reopen and hear what our customers think of the new-look bar. We’ve really tried to cater to everyone with this refurbishment – making the bar a go-to place whether you want somewhere to do some work, have a tasty meal or somewhere to celebrate into the night.
“We’ve put a special focus on our food and drink menu and have come up with something totally unique to the city centre. Our customers can enjoy everything from the vegetarian and vegan
options on our Greenhouse section to our variety of craft beer and ciders that will be on rotation regularly, including those sourced locally.”
