Newcastle pub, The Three Bulls Heads, is to close next week for a 5 day, £100,000 makeover that will see it spruced-up ready for the summer’s Diamond Jubilee, Euro 2012 and Olympic celebrations. The pub on Percy Street, which is owned by Stonegate Pub Company, is being re-decorated throughout, with new carpets and curtains, new and refurbished furniture installed, and new light fittings and pictures.
A favourite haunt for Newcastle United fans, the pub, which will be painted black and white outside, will re-open its doors with a celebratory reception for local businesses on Friday 25th May from 5-7pm. The pub’s resident DJ will be entertaining customers from 6pm until late along with magicians from the Magic Box.
Commenting on the makeover, general manager Alan Lamb said, “The pub is looking a bit tired and in need of some TLC so we’ve bringing in a team of designers and builders to freshen it up. It will look much lighter, brighter and yet retain that traditional pub feel. Our popular quiz night on Thursdays will continue as will our team of DJs playing a great mix of music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. With St James Park hosting some of the Olympic football this summer and the return of European football next season it’s the perfect time to freshen things up.
